CVS Extra Bucks: Update on Fiasco

Alright so this is an update for you following my blog, this is part two of the first description of my CVS extra bucks experience. To read part one, click here: http://15somethingbeautiful.blogspot.com/2013/06/cvs-extra-bucks-first-expierence.html

Alright so I went ahead and took back the Maybelline Nailpolish and Foundation stick to my cvs on the way home from the gym. The problem is- I REALLY wanted to get my hands on that Foundation Stick. Well, I returned them to that CVS and got my $14 back, hallelujah, and then left the CVS by the gym because this poor lady was the same one who dealt with me a few days ago when I went to go to the store to get all the initial makeup that I bought and I just felt so bad I didn't want to put her through any more hassle and I didn't want to embarrass myself anymore SO I drove like 10 miles down the street and went to a different CVS. Well let me say that this CVS is so much better than the one by the gym. They have a much better selection and better displays and stays well stocked. I picked up my Maybelline Foundation Stick and took it to the counter and asked all these embarrassing questions trying to figure out how the extra bucks works and I asked the man working if I could just purchase the foundation stick with my 9 extra bucks and he said that was fine, but you apparently have to have the actual bucks that are printed on your past receipt. Well I didn't know that so I left those in the car so I had to go and out to the car and fetch them and honestly it was all really embarrassing and I think the moral of this story is that, I really need to pay better attention to the fine print and also I NEED TO STAY OUT OF CVS. For a few months at least.

CVS Extra Bucks: First Expierence

Alright so I tried out the CVS extra bucks program for the first time today. I am simi pleased with it, I got a lot of things and got $9 back. The only thing I am displeased about was that it was spend $10 on Maybelline  to get back 3 bucks which I was really excited about because I wanted to try out the new Fit Me Shine Free foundation which is like a stick that seemed like a dupe for the benefit fake up concealer- well the Foundation Stick was like $9.47 so it wasn't $10 so I had to settle and buy a nailpolish also, well after all that and about 14 bucks later come to find out it only is for Maybelline EYE makeup- which was my fault, I should of read the fine lines, but I didn't get my 3 extra bucks back so needless to say the foundation stick and nailpolish will be going right back to the store. The cvs is litearlly on the way home from the gym and not out of the way at all so luckily that won't be too much of a hassel. I am going to save my extra bucks and only buy things like wet n wild that you can't get at walmart with them since Walmart still always has the lowest prices. But I am hoping to still get my hands on that foundation stick, So I might just use my extra bucks on it since it will take months to hit the shelves of my local walmart. The moral of this story is be careful with what you buy and always check the fine print!

The One About Loneliness

I feel like you can be surrounded by people and have the best friends in the world and you can still be lonely. That feeling that no one else can really understand where you are in life. I do have the best friends in the world but in the next months our lives are going to be going in very different directions. With so much on my mind a no where to turn, but because I don't have someone to listen, I don't have anyone to empathize with. Maybe this is just a passing feeling. But I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one out there that sometimes feels this way.

Cheapskateing

Alright so recently I have been really into the "affordables"- considering I am about to be a broke college kid I figured that kind of thing is kind of important. Today I really want to pick up some new makeup but I think I am going to go to cvs and sign up for that 'extra beauty bucks' system and take my stab at getting some products on sale and earning rewards for it. Have any of you gotten any good deals recently?

Typical Tuesdays

I have to go to work in 35 minutes so I thought I would squeeze a quick blog post in. Today I went to tacobell tuesday with my friends and finished sewing my frocket on my shirt. I have a video up if you want to know what I am talking about. Now I am just trying to find the best way to do American Flag Shorts for my next video. Yesterday I did end up going thrifting which was pretty awesome because I bought 3 pairs of pants that I cut into cutoff shorts for $11 at the GoodWill. You can't really beat that. I will probably be going back sometime next week with Maddie to try to find some more treasures. Stay in tune with my YouTube channel the upcoming week and get ready for a lot of Red, White, & Blue amoungts the midst celebrating the 4th! Until next time. sarah

Monday's Motivation

I have a really bad case of the "lazy summer syndrome" so I wanted to make a sort of to do list on here to give me motivation and help me be held accountable to actually get something done today. Today I will...
1. Go to the gym
2. Go thrifting to get some clothes to make a DIY video (been on my list of ages but I never have gotten around to it).
3. Refilm my french manicure video (the first attempt didn't turn out so hot).
4. Work on cleaning my room for 1 hour.
5. Edit & Upload a video to go live tomorrow.

Okay ya'll- I go to work at 5 p.m. (I work as a cashier at Shane's Rib Shack) so I need to get cooking on this list. Too bad I slept in until 9 a.m.

College is approaching.

This fact blows my mind. I don't really think I'm ready. I haven't even started getting dorm stuff or anything like that. AHHH. I have a LOT of preparing to do.

Already Skipped A Day... Whoops

So I accidently forgot to blog yesterday, and I didn't realize it until I was laying in bed at 11:48 pm and I was too tired to drag out my computer and try to get one up. Yesterday was Bailey's birthday so we went out to eat for that. I also had to work. I work today also so that isn't fun. I actually don't have a ton to say. I might film a little today. Catch y'all on the flip side.

Fancy Editing is Hard

Okay I just wanted to let y'all know that I started the trail run of Adobe Premiere pro and this junk is so freaking complicated. I have absolutely no idea how to work it. I really want to upload again tomorrow to not break my streak but that is gonna be hard because its already 8 pm and at 10:30 I am going to see the Monsters University Movie :) plus I have to work tomorrow from 11-2 so if all else fails I might be able to film edit and upload after work, we will see. I am still pretty sure not a soul reads these blogs, but thats okay, I like them! I leave you with two photos I took of Bailey and Hayes today. I thought they turned out okay.

CANON REBEL T5i

Ya'll my new camera is coming today and I am so freaking excited. I am being such a teenage girl and have been really into the whole obnoxious photo editing recently, so I am excited to goof of with photography more. Obviously my camera is for film but I think it will still be fun to do pictures too! Here are some shots that you have probably seen on my instagram too.

iPhone Read Receipts

So I am slightly annoyed because a few things from today have gone wrong. Let's first of all mention my frustration about the read receipts on iPhones. I know this is coming totally out of the blue, but I am telling you they are so frustrating. I keep my read receipts on because I like people to know if I have read the message yet or not, and if I have read the message and intentionally not responded. But I guess that kind of information really comes back to bit me in the butt because I absolutely hate it when I ask a question and then someone will immediately read it and not respond until later. This happened with one of my guy friends, he read the message at 8:05 pm and didn't respond until 1:26 am. Is that necessary? Really?

Blog Every Day?

My life isn't the most exciting in the world, but I like to think. I think a daily blog post is the perfect way to get all my thinking out in writing and I feel like there is something just therapeutic about the whole process. I love the fact that if you blog every day you can go back and read your past thoughts, dreams, and hopes. I also would love to freshen up on my writing skills so I guess there is no better way to do that than to write everyday. My posts aren't going to be about beauty or fashion for the most part, they will be more about life and my thoughts pertaining to. There is a chance that not a soul will read these posts, but that's okay- I am doing it more for me anyway. -Sarah
